Surrey Fire and Rescue Open Days
Surrey Fire and Rescue teams are running open days across Surrey. It is a great opportunity to see the range of activities involved with being a modern day firefighter, to learn about the crews, see the fire engines, and learn about fire safety! They are offering a SEND specific hour prior to opening to the public.
Please see below the upcoming open days:
- Walton Fire Station - Saturday 6th July. Starting from 11am to 3pm. Special educational needs session from 10am to 11am.
- Epsom Fire Station - Saturday 13 July. Starting from 12pm to 3pm. Special educational needs session from 11am to 12pm.
- Godalming Fire Station - Saturday 10th August. Starting from 11am - 4pm. Special educational needs session from 10am to 11am.
- Godstone Fire Station - Saturday 24th August. Starting from 12pm to 4pm. Special educational needs session from 11am to 12am.
- Woodhatch Place - Saturday 31 August. Starting from 11am to 4:30pm. Special educational needs session from 10am to 11am.
- Leatherhead Fire Station - Sunday 8 September. Starting from 11am to 4pm. Special educational needs sessions from 10am to 11am.

Heath Week
Monday 29th July - Sunday 4th August
Outdoor events all over Surrey to explore the heathlands, forests and commons. Including a family day, reptile roadshow, butterfly walk and scavenger hunt.
Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Summer Holiday Activities

Offering various workshops and activities for children aged 5 to 18 throughout the summer holidays. They are also providing a small number of funded bursaries intended for young carers and families with children who are eligible for pupil premium or struggling to access activities for their children due to financial or personal circumstances.

In Our Stars
Monday 26th - Friday 30th August from 10am-3pm
In Our Stars is a relaxed drama group for young carers, offering them some respite. As well as fun drama activities they offer healthy food for eligible children who receive benefit-related free school meals, which is supported by Active Surrey. A free meal is included on the day. They also support children living with special educational needs and disabilities.

Home-Start Picnic in the Park
Tuesday 30th July from 11am-2pm
Join Home Start in Staines Park for a day of fun in the sun on 30th July! They will have children's toys and games, train rides, refreshments and crafts activities. It is running from 11am-2pm, entry costs £2 per adult, £1 per child and you will receive a drink, a cake and a ride on the train. All proceeds will go to Home-Start Spelthorne.

Pottery Taster Sessions
18th July to 25th August
This is a 40 minute ceramic workshops for adults and children, the Foyle Pottery Studio is opening it's doors to visitors to create with clay.
Whether you're seeking a creative outlet, looking for a unique way to spend time with loved ones, or simply curious about the art of clay, these workshops are perfect to explore, create, and connect. These sessions are only available from Thursdays to Sundays.

Pooley Green Youth Project
26th July to 30th August 2024 2-4pm
Runnymede Borough Council and Surrey Police have launched the Pooley Green Youth Project for summer 2024! There will be five weeks of free activity sessions for young people living in Runnymede and in school years 7-11. The sessions will run every Friday 2pm-4pm from 26 July 2024 to 30 August 2024.
Sessions will be delivered by Personal Best Education and Sport4Kids.
- 26 July: Football/multi-sport activity
- 2 August: Laser Tag or first aid training (with certificate)
- 9 August: Team building activities
- 16 August: Nerf battles
- 23 August: Dodgeball
- 30 August: Archery/multi-sport activities
Free food and refreshments will be provided.

Chatty Chums
Saturday 27th July from 11am-1pm or 3pm-5pm.
Chatty Chums is a special session designed for children with down syndrome, other syndromes and/or physical disability who need extra support with speech and communication. It is led by an experienced practitioner who aims to support language development through play. The group is free of charge.
