Challengers Playschemes

Challengers playschemes are for 4 to 12 year olds and run at weekends, after school and school holidays throughout the year at their playcentres and community venues. Activities include art, noisy/active play (bouncy castles, soft play and rough and tumble), outside space for accessible bikes, trikes, go karts, ball games, sand and water play and mucking about as well as quiet spaces for curling up with a book and stories.

FISH Playscheme

FISH (Fun In the School Holidays) is an exciting activity playscheme for 10 to 16 year olds in Guildford. The Council run scheme takes place every Easter and summer and offers young people the chance to socialise, have fun and learn new skills. Activities include paintballing, horse riding, trampolining, Djing, dance, giant inflatables, theme park trips, baseball, a Chill Out Zone and much more! FISH is a mainstream scheme which is inclusive, affordable and accessible; offering subsidised rates, a free transport service and one to one support for young people with additional needs.

InterAKtive Playschemes

InterAKtive is for families who have a child or children on the autism spectrum, or those with a similar communication difficulty. Linden Bridge School is the “hub” of the playscheme. Facilities at the site include a play area, a modern swimming pool, and a block of classrooms, where activities such as art and crafts and cookery are carried out. The whole area is secure. As well as the on-site activities, there are a number of projects organised out in the community. These include 10-pin bowling, Thames Valley Adventure Playground, Hampton Court boat trip and crazy golf. The older groups have enjoyed Companion Cycling in Bushy Park, and visits to Sandown Park Race Course and Tilgate Park and Nature Centre.

North Surrey Afasic Activity Weeks

The activity weeks give children with speech and language impairments (aged 5 upwards) the opportunity to take part in a range of activities that help them to improve their confidence by tackling tasks and challenges with other young people who have similar needs. Afasic also run 3 Friday Clubs during school terms with various activities including crafts, games and outings.

White Lodge Centre

The centre run a number of play and youth schemes specifically for disabled children and young people (aged 4-12) at venues in Runnymede, Spelthorne and Elmbridge. Most schemes run during the Easter and summer holidays with some youth provision on Saturdays.

YMCA East Surrey Yippee Specialised Playscheme

Yippee is the YMCA's welcoming playscheme, which runs during term time and school holidays, for children aged 5-11, with a wide range of disabilities and complex needs. Activities include cookery, music, arts and crafts, gardening, sports, tactile play, swimming and bowling. Children can also go on trips out to the community and the farm.

YMCA East Surrey Yip4Youth Specialised Playscheme

Yip4Youth is a fun and friendly evening, weekend and school holiday scheme for 12 to 18 year olds with disabilities and complex needs. It provides young people with an opportunity to socialise with their peers in a relaxed drop-in setting with a pool table, a home cinema and games consoles. Yip4Youth members also go on trips including bowling, swimming, going to the cinema, ice skating and mountain biking. One of the aims is to help teens develop everyday life skills, such as taking the bus, paying for things and cooking.
